The Boys & Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle started with a simple goal in mind: to provide a positive recreational outlet for boys during the after school hours. Nearly 50 years later, we've grown from one facility to clubs in three counties with three additional school sites that serve over 1300 boys and girls in the Eastern Panhandle. Boys & Girls Club staff are trained in youth development practices to provide children and teens with high-quality experiences that support their current and long-term success. Staff utilize our five key elements for positive youth development, based on research that studied many Clubs’ best practices: Create a safe, positive environment. That’s why we launched Summer Brain Gain – a summer learning loss prevention program developed specifically for Boys & Girls Clubs to integrate into their traditional summer schedule.
